Mary Jo S. Korona is a founding partner of Leclair Korona Giordano Cole LLP. Her litigation practice focuses on matters involving disputes among shareholders, partners and members of corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies as they relate to buy outs, dissolutions and breaches of fiduciary duty. Mary Jo also litigates claims in bankruptcy court, employment disputes, claims involving restrictive covenants, Article 78 proceedings, foreclosures and commercial collections.
Mary Jo has been selected one of “The Best Lawyers in America” in the category of Commercial Litigation. She has successfully represented many clients in proceedings before state and federal courts, federal and state human rights agencies, mediations and arbitrations.
Mary Jo has lectured to business and professional groups on various topics including collections, federal bankruptcy law, contract law and general practice matters. She is a regular contributing columnist to the Daily Record on litigation matters.
Mary Jo is an active member of the Monroe County Bar Association, where she serves as Co-Chair of the Ethics Committee, the Greater Rochester Association for Women Attorneys, and the New York State Bar Association. She serves as a member of 7th Judicial District Attorney Grievance Committee and she is a Trustee of the Monroe County Supreme Court Law Library.
Prior to forming Leclair Korona Giordano Cole LLP, Mary Jo was a partner in the litigation firm of Wolford & Leclair LLP. Prior to 2000, Mary Jo was a partner in Lawrence, Werner, Kesselring, Swartout & Brown LLP where she represented clients in commercial matters including the representation of creditors and trustees in bankruptcy proceedings.
As an alumna of St. John Fisher College, Mary Jo serves on the Advisory Board of the First Decade of Women at St. John Fisher College and she is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Justinian Society of St. John Fisher College.
